Hormone Balance

WomanHappyHerHormonesAreBalanced-850x561Dr. Dianne Stone has been treating women of all ages for over 25 years. She offers a variety of treatment options and is dedicated to doing what it takes to make her patients feel their absolute best.

Hormone balance is my specialty. When I stopped the practice of obstetrics and then gynecologic surgery, a wonderful space opened in my professional life for focusing more on hormone balance and its role in women’s health and wellness. I don’t do this because it’s the ‘hot new thing’ but because it is truly my passion. I love working with women, listening to their story, and together creating a comprehensive and individualized plan. I tailor plans to their specific medical history and their lives, to balance their hormones and bring back health, zest and vitality.

And, whereas I don’t think a physician needs to have personally experienced the condition he or she is treating, I do think one of the gifts I bring to my patients’ visits is my own personal journey with hormone balance. Experience is a lovely teacher. I know what PMS feels like and the impact it had on my life in my 30’s and 40’s. I’ve been through the menopause transition and have coped with its challenges and appreciated its gifts.

Hormone balance in women is like a symphony orchestra. Everything works the best when every instrument is playing in harmony. I don’t just look at estrogen and progesterone, the major ‘female’ hormones but I also check and balance adrenal and thyroid function as well as our ‘male’ hormones, testosterone and DHEA.

Hormone balance is not just important for women going through perimenopause or menopause. Out-of-balance hormone function can be associated with fatigue, mood disorders, weight gain, sexual dysfunction, abnormal periods, infertility and bone loss.”
